It is a beautiful hotel, the room was spacious with excellent lake view, wonderful service. I booked a room with breakfast. However, they also included complimentary afternoon tea from 2pm to 5 pm. And following with cocktail time from 5pm to 7pm. (Even I do not drink alcohol) Which is an amazing and surprising service to me. The food was so great that I did not need to spend money eating dinner. The environment was amazing, and I enjoyed the hot spring every night or early in the morning. It located up the hill away from the tourist crowed. It felt like I was in another world. If you did not want to walk the hill, the texi is only 600 yen (US $4). We enjoyed ourselves very much.

There is a steep slope going up to the hotel, so may not be convenient for some travelers. The hotel is just beside the Ropeway and near major attractions, very convenient. Private onsen is good. Breakfast is good.

Hotel is facing the lake and next to the Ropeway. Great location! However, to walk up the hills back to hotel is very challenging.

Everything was great but a slope needed to climb to get in the hotel. The private bath was wonderful with view of kawaguchiko which you can see in the room as well. The iced beer and some snacks were Recommended during the private bath.

Rakuyu is a beautiful hotel with amazing views. The hospitality is great, the rooms are big, cosy and comfortable. The breakfast spread while relatively small, serves quality food. The public bath is clean and a must-try. Only thing to note is that it's quite a steep walk to the hotel. Other than that, our stay was fabulous!

The hotel is located on a high ground, without a private car it will be hassle to carry the luggages up there. I paid a room for ¥87,720 per night (accommodate 4 persons) wishing to have a spacious and comfortable room. The room I had was simply a double room with 2 futons. If only had I knew, I'd have booked 2 double rooms instead so you don't have to be overcrowded in one room. Breakfast and food in the lounge was limited. No refills when they run out, so you should be the first comer for that.

The hotel is a once a lifetime experience. The hotel is located on top of a steep hill next to the tourist site Ropeway. If you miss the shuttle bus and arrive at night, the walk up the hill can be physically demanding especially during winter with tree barks scattered and no lighting. But after we survive the physical journey, the hotel is really a must visit gem. The view from the room is amazing. Every room faces the lake. The room is traditional Japanese room with nice tatami mats and buckwheat quality pillow. The highlight has to be the breakfast and the onsen. The breakfast and dinner need to be reserved in advance (must include breakfast when you book the room). Food is fresh and chef quality. The onsen faces the lake so is really special experience. You can also visit the ropeway in the morning. Service is also excellent. The team is responsive and also helped us order dinner as there are no food nearby. Overall this is a must visit hotel for anyone who wants authentic Japanese experience and next to the lake. The breakfast and onsen is also a must when you are there.
